On view at West Gallery is MM Yu’s latest one-woman exhibit titled, Rescind. Featuring works in enamel on canvas, Rescind shows Yu’s continuing fascination with abstract forms and color. It is almost a glimpse of what goes through the mind of the artist, from the selection or filtering process of ideas to the final execution of brushstrokes. The process can be tedious, and it is up to the artist to decide what elements to keep and what elements to do over. Yu strikes that delicate balance in Rescind, showing us that each stroke leads to the next. What she does with it is a positive step toward defining the creative potential she nurtured from the very beginning. Yu is a graduate of the UP College of Fine Arts, majoring in painting.
